Carol Jung, Joseph Campbell and others talks about using symbols and mythology as a way to tap into specific
archetypal energy that inside of all of us.
These archetypes and symbols represent our inner potential. When we are able to access and use these inner potentials wonderful results will show.
We will achieve our personal goals, reach personal success and live a life of power, purpose, passion and perseverance. Stories, metaphors and analogies are some of the best tools for shifting a perspective, changing beliefs and creating a new behavior.
The animal world is packed-full of great mythic symbols that can help use in our daily lives. And there is no better animal that embodies mental strength and the spirit of the warrior then the rhinoceros!
Last week we started our journey of what it’s like be a rhino and how acting like a rhino will almost ensure the attainment of personal success.
We’ll continue the adventure today…
Where Does A Rhino Get Its Energy?
What exactly is it that turns a lazy, contented, do-nothing cow into an energetic, powerful, determined charging rhinoceros?
There must be something responsible for the transformation; something that possibly we can isolate, analyze and use to our advantage. I’m mean really…what would cause a rhinoceros to charge, sometimes against seemingly insurmountable difficulties?
And what keeps the rhino charging?
Why doesn’t he quit raising a ruckus in the jungle and relax in the quiet pasture as a cow? What is it that drives him?
There is no such thing as perpetual energy, there has to be a “cause” for this endless supply of energy. Something must supply the power that makes him continue to charge day after day. It seems to be self-generating. It never runs down. What causes such great motivation?
If you’re truly are a rhino, you’ll figure it out!
To assist in figuring this out, just in case the answer escapes you for now, being a rhinoceros would mean that you are after something.
Let me ask you, what is a cow after…apparently not much right?
Here’s the question…
Why aren’t the cows going after anything?
After all they have brains. They have legs to move around. They have eyes to see and ears to hear and some even have horns, just like a rhino.
So why can’t they see all the possibilities in front of them? We can almost get a sense that they’re waiting for something. Perhaps they’re waiting for the government to take care of them. Maybe they’re waiting for a raise at work simply because they’ve been employed for a certain amount of time. Or maybe they’re waiting to hit the lottery.
All the cow does is wait and wait and wait. Can’t they see all that there is to do in life…all there is to experience, all the places to see?
What is it you have that a rhino doesn’t?
Belief in Personal success!
That’s right! Belief! Cows just don’t believe they can achieve personal success and consequently they don’t even try. They don’t even give it one could charge! They see all the opportunities floating by them, but believe personal success is for the lucky few ‘hand-picked” picked rhinos.
They believe that personal success is for someone else, not them.
If you’re quite you can hear them mooing “We’re only simple cows. We cannot charge. There is no use in even trying. We’ll just wait here to be slaughtered”
Cows will tell you that they are being realistic. But a rhino knows the truth. The cows are either plain ignorant, lazy, or they are just trying to rationalize their failure.
Personal success is Yours!
Personal success is there are for anyone who will get off your butt and charge it down! You know that, don’t you?
That’s what makes a rhinoceros. They know and truly believe that whatever they want, by taking action and charging that chances are excellent they will get it. They imagine it as being theirs.
They can taste the victory of achieving it. It’s a rhino unstoppable belief that runs their motor. It’s their belief that fills them with an enthusiasm to charge, despite the torpedoes.
Their enthusiasm electrifies themselves and makes them come alive. That is what prompts them to jump out of bed early every morning.
You are this charging rhinoceros overflowing enthusiasm generated by your beliefs: your beliefs that you can do it all and see it all.
This is what makes being a rhinoceros so enjoyable and that’s why rhinos are fun to be around.
Rhinos are Naturally High
Rhinoceroses have a natural zest for living. They are so high on life that you will rarely find a rhino with the drugs or drinking problem. They don’t need artificial stimulants because they produce it themselves, naturally.
In fact, researcher supports this. Biochemists have discovered the existence of endorphins, a morphine like substance secreted by the brain.
Numerous scientists and doctors described that these natural opiates depress pain and seemed to expand or awareness of pleasure. Research has uncovered the “runners high” in that jogging seems bring on the secretion of endorphins.
This is why rhinos love to charge and feel so good about life. Their brains are literally flooded with antidepressants.
So keep believing. Keep charging. Imagine yourself reaching your goals. You know you can do it because you are a rhinoceros!
Your enthusiasm will keep you charging.
Charge!
Charge!
Charge!
If your batteries ever seem to wear down, you will know what happened. Your beliefs will have waned.
Keep believing in yourself and your vision.
You have to.
No one else can do it for you. It has come from inside you. Believe and succeed!
Until next time…enjoy your week and keep charging!
