Maybe you are just about ready to take on the task of personal transformation or maybe you’re in the middle of it. Wherever you are in this personal transformationjourney, there are times when you need to recall (without the help of a book or a laptop) what the basic principles of personal transformation are.

Here is TRAILS 5, an acronym for you to call to mind whenever you need a quick reminder.

  • Take your past hurts where they belong. Bring them to the place in your heart that allows you to accept that you were wronged; realize that you are greater than the sum of all your hurts and gather strength to move on. This is not going to be easy but nothing worthwhile ever is. You don’t need to forget the hurt because that is sometimes not possible but you need to put it someplace where it cannot hurt you and you need to be able to tell yourself that it will not determine how you live the rest of your life.
  • Reflection is part of your life. Reflect everyday on what has happened during the day and think of where you are going. Give this a regular schedule. Begin your day with it and end your day with it. People are not supposed to live their lives in a constant whirl of action; you need quiet time to center your thoughts and to pray. With reflection you have assessment and analysis. You try to find out where you are in terms of how far you have progressed and you take a look at what still needs to be done.
  • Affirm your achievements. After reflecting on what has transpired during the day, don’t forget to affirm all the positive things that you have accomplished so far. This affirmation is an important part of transformation. You cannot simply reject all the parts of your own behavior that you like; you have to strengthen the good qualities in you.
  • Internalize the lessons life has given you. Internalizing lessons means paying attention to what life is teaching you. It means doing what you need to reverse any trend or cycle that is self-defeating or counterproductive.  Determine what works and what doesn’t work. For example, if you recognize impulsive shopping is the reason why you are always short of funds then promise yourself you will not go shopping without a list and you will stick to what is written on it.
  • Live life as you believe you should. Be true to your principles and concentrate on doing what you think is right. If all around you people are doing things that you are uncomfortable with then either move away from their circle or pay no heed to what they are up to. This is not easy to do at all but remember that you won’t be happy either living life according to what others want.
  • Straighten the way you think. Get rid of all the thoughts that limit you. Stop thinking that others are better or more talented and that you will never make things better. Every time you catch yourself thinking negatively shift your thoughts to something affirmative and positive. Remind yourself of one or two accomplishments you achieved.
  • 5 priority goals. Make a list of your top 5 must-dos. Be clear about what you want and how soon you want to get things done. Break your goals down into manageable segments and time frames. For example, if your goal is a beautiful and healthy body then you could tell yourself that you want to develop the habit of exercising for thirty minutes at least four times a week at the end of four weeks. Now here’s the thing: even when you break down goals in this manner, you will sometimes meet with failure or achieve only partial success. When this happens, just get up, shake the dust off your pants and try again. You will make better progress if you do not allow yourself to be hampered by unrealistic expectations.

If you’d like to start a journey of personal transformation so that you can live a life of power, purpose and passion, but don’t know where to begin, I urge you to consider The Warrior’s Quest Intensive.  This is a 3 ½ day one-on-one, private coaching and transformation experience.  For more information about The Warrior’s Quest take a look HERE.

“…we are all bioengineered with the capacity to let the heart do the talking and the mind do its’ walking.”mind-empowerment-1

When I first registered the domain mindpowercoach.com, the term mind power made perfect sense to me. Surely everybody wants more empowerment and is willing to challenge their thinking in order to becoming clearer, more confident and able overcome the obstacles?

In workshops, I would go on and on about how to increase your mind power with enough success to keep me persisting. However, it was not until 2010 before I came to terms with the importance of a detailed purpose. Purpose in every area of life, including health, financial, emotional wellbeing, career or business and especially relationships.

The ability to connect to a detailed purpose gave mind power direction and an important job to do. We know when our heart’s in it, which makes all the difference. We know a job or project is only as going to be as good as the brief. If the mind is not giving a quality brief, it naturally defaults to whatever purpose we were conditioned to live. This default purpose often encompassed general health, a nice car, marriage, house, kids and annual holidays.

There is nothing wrong with that if that’s what your heart desires. One way to check if you are on track with your true purpose is how inspired and content you are in your journey. The journey can be as sweet as the destination. Its how you can make the destination inevitable and not be physically and emotionally depleted once you arrive.

Mind power without a detailed purpose proved to be the difference in the journey. What condition you arrived in, at your destination, would determine the quality of the overall experience and achievement. How many times have you experienced or heard people say, “is that it? I worked that hard for this? This is not want I expected.” It makes no sense that we work hard and strive to achieve and after all that work, we end-up disappointed and disillusioned.

This helped explain the ‘money can’t buy you happiness’ cliché. It was a conflict of interest hearing it from a wealthy person. They couldn’t talk because they had money. Jamie Packer’s interview on 60 minutes was revealing in the sense that he struggled with failure. He was disappointment and isolated even though his luxury needs were far from being compromised. He even admitted that while his life has been difficult, he would not swap his financial position with anyone.

Over the last century, abundance and wealth have been associated with financial status, thereby distracting us from identifying and investing into the opportunities that are highly enriching. Those opportunities are relationships and adventure. Jamie Packer was reduced to tears when he explained how Tom Cruise reached out to him because acts of compassion and caring create extraordinary relationships. We have seen people spend their personal fortunes on medical bills to save their loved ones from suffering to a terminal disease.

Purpose has either become the focus or is growing in popularity for the personal development industry. It is no longer good enough to leave the awareness of meaningful goals to the person seeking help. If goals were based on purpose, you would be surprised how much of someone’s empowerment is naturally ignited. You can’t just ask someone, “What are your goals?” Most of the time their goals are founded on obligation or lack the details that can inspire them into action.

From over 100 clients over 2 years, spending 2 hours per week for 7 weeks in my EP7 Empowered for Purpose life-coaching program, I have witness two significant shifts. The first is coming to terms with how they are bioengineered with the capacity to be extraordinary. How 7 billion people on the planet are all equipped in the same way. And secondly, how much of that capacity became relevant and accessible once they became intimate with their purpose to their health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, roles and purpose based goals.

The signature essence (their uniqueness) of someone finally can express when that empowerment is turned on. What I found interesting was, it would not turn on beyond survival until they finally sat with the ‘why’ and were given the means to detail the ‘what’ before the ‘how’ was relevant.

I used to hold the theory that genius is in everyone. I now hold the firm view that genius is also unique to each person. The formula to tap into your genius is empowerment + your signature essence = your genius expression.

Genius is not a label or tangible title you can give to yourself. It is a subjective view held by someone deeply inspired by your actions or innovations. If they feel compelled to accuse you of being a genius, then that is just feedback what you are doing is being appreciated in a profound way. That feedback is indeed wonderful because your purpose was to make a difference to yourself and others in a meaningful and rewarding way.

There is so much I could explore with mind empowerment beyond 2013. Many modalities focus on reducing stress and helping you balance your life and get clearer on what you want. The personal development programs and tools that help ignite and expand your imagination as well as trust and develop your intuition for the sake of connecting and living your purpose, is where I see it going from here.

Your purpose can only be as inspiring as your imagination and realistically achievable through your intuition. No matter how good the strategy, if you haven’t connected to your signature essence and built a purpose from your true self, you will procrastinate on and sabotage that strategy in the most effective ways. We are born with imagination and intuition, but these are not abilities that mainstream society is structured to nurture and develop. In fact, the opposite happens. Reclaiming them is a key part of empowering the mind.

Furthermore, heart has a lot more influence on your actions and emotions. Science and the personal development industry are beginning to explore this further. The Institute of Heart Math do a marvelous job of showing the power of the heart.

I often say, let the heart be your master and your mind be its servant. Albert Einstein put it will when he said, “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

Our empowerment is reduced when we define the intellect as intelligence. Analyzing complex problems makes up only one part of intelligence. At best, we can only optimize our future based on our past experiences if we rely on analysis alone. The great realizations, epiphanies and breakthroughs come from quantum leaps of understanding that occur thanks to an active imagination and intuition.

Empowering the mind must continue to expand from IQ and even EQ. Emotional Intelligence (IE or EQ) as a form of intelligence has come a long way in being accepted by business and has paved the way for improved human communication and relationships. Now, we are poised for something much greater; a level of empowerment and vision that will align the human race with nature in a sustainable and abundant way.

The mind can be turned on to envisage an extraordinary life and be intuitive to how to make a harmonious and sustainable global community possible. Our heart-based purpose can engage everything we do because it is naturally motivated to serve one another.

I believe an increasing number of people from around the world are already committing to personally and collectively developing the level of holistic intelligence required for fulfilling humanity’s purpose. After all, we are all bioengineered with the capacity to let the heart do the talking and the mind do its’ walking. From 2013 on, one would like to hope that it’s all about being empowered for humanity’s purpose to align with truth and love.

In my coaching I help many clients with releasing unsupportive habits, creating empowering routines and habits routines ritualsintrospective rituals.

Often when I’m going through the process there are inevitably questions about the difference between the three.

Many people I have found use the phrase habit and routine interchangeably.  Since words have power, when I help with the distinguishing the difference in these three, there is a subtle shift in perception. Once this begins and the person begins to describe these differently they act differently and then almost like magic their results change.

So, what is the difference between routine, habit and ritual?

First let’s look at dictionary.com definition of each for them

Routine

  1. A customary or regular course of procedure.
  2. Commonplace tasks, chores, or duties as must be done regularly or at specified intervals; typical or everyday activity: the routine of an office.
  3. Regular, unvarying, habitual, unimaginative, or rote procedure.

Habit

  1. An acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary: the habit of looking both ways before crossing the street.
  2. Customary practice or use: Daily bathing is an American habit.
  3. A particular practice, custom, or usage: the habit of shaking hands.
  4. A dominant or regular disposition or tendency; prevailing character or quality: She has a habit of looking at the bright side of things.
  5. Addiction, especially to narcotics (often preceded by the).

Ritual

  1. The established form for a ceremony; specifically : the order of words prescribed for a religious ceremony
  2. Ritual observance; specifically
    1. System of rites
    2. Ceremonial act or action
    3. An act or series of acts regularly repeated in a set precise manner

We can look at a habit as an individual and stand alone behavior, i.e. smoking, negative thinking or even positive thinking, something that is completely unconsciousness.   The individual is almost totally unaware that they are performing the habit.

A routine can be looked at a set of actions that have an outcome in mind, i.e. working out, driving to work, etc.  A routine is also unconsciousness and the difference between a routine and a habit is you can look at a routine as a series of habits that have a specific end result.

A ritual is a completely different way of performing a task or series of tasks. A ritual is performed with mindfulness and awareness.  A ritual doesn’t have to be associated with a religious or spiritual practice, but it does required being in the here and now.

So, when we look at these three actions the one thing that separates them is mindfulness, which is being 100% aware of what you are doing.

You can turn any habit or routine into a ritual simply by being mindful.  And here’s the great thing, as soon as you become mindful of what you are doing you will either stop what you are doing (if it is a “bad” habit) or you will enter the zone and experience bliss.

I suggest you take a look at your day have some fun and experiment a bit.  Select one to three things you are currently doing as a habit or routine and turn them into a ritual.

For example, when you are eating, turn off all outside noise, i.e. TV, radio, music and contemplate everything that was required to get the food to your table.  The people involved, the processes, the trucks, the ships everything that was necessary to bring the food from where it was grown or raised to your table.  Then, as you eat the food chew it slowly and try to pick out all the flavors in each bite. Feel the textures, taste the difference, notice the where in your mouth you are experiencing the flavors.

Sure, it will take you longer then usual to finish your meal….and that’s the point.  A ritual has a specific intent and process behind it, which may mean more time involved.

As you turn the three routines or habits into a ritual notice your feelings, your thoughts and where your attention is.  As you develop your own personal rituals you will find your life becoming full with gratitude and appreciation.

This will be the first step in living a life of power, purpose and passion!

Some people misunderstand the purpose of Personal Coaching. They think that a personal coach is just someone who is personal coachthere for them to talk to. However, a personal coach is not just a listener, they will guide you in finding solutions rather than excuses, help you set realistic goals and most of all will hold you accountable for taking the steps set for your goals.

Personal coaching is not a therapy, it is not fixing what is broken; it is closing the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

“Part therapist, part consultant, part motivational expert, part professional organizer, part friend, part nag — the personal coach seeks to do for your life what a personal trainer does for your body.”  – Kim Palmer

So what are the signs that you need a Personal Coach?

You’re Stuck: You do everything but despite your best efforts to make changes in your life, nothing has changed. You are still in the same place with the same issues you had 5 years ago. You may want to ask for help from a personal coach to guide you to get out of where you are now.

“I absolutely believe that people, unless coached, never reach their maximum potential.” – Bob Nardelli

People Avoid You: People may stop listening to you if you are complaining about the same issues over and over for years. The lives of your friends will be drained if they listen to your repetitive problems.

“A coach can play any number of roles –mentor, consultant, motivator, but one thing she [or he] is not is a therapist. Coaching deals with the “how”: how you can move on from where you are and make change. It’s action-oriented, and concerned with the present and future, not the past.” – Shape Magazine

You’ve Lost Your Purpose: You feel tired and you have unexplainable pains all over your body. Due to your unhappiness, boredom and resistant on taking responsibility of your life, you are bound to become stressful at all times. If you wake up one day and realize that you want to be happy but impossible, try to talk to a personal coach.

You’ve Lost Your Power: If you are so uptight and can only see problems and not solutions, a personal coach can help you by using some tools to program your daily routine to be happy. They will help you create your plan and guide you step by step on where you want to go in life.

You’ve Lost Or Given Up On Your Dream: If you want to pursue your dream but hesitate, then you might want to find a helping hand to take the first. It won’t happen overnight but taking small steps is brave enough to face the reality that you need personal coaching.

You’ve Lost Your Passion: You already have great maps, plans and strategy on achieving your goal in life and you do well on the beginning but you lose motivation to go on along the way. There may be many reasons why you didn’t follow through your plans and the best help may be coming from a Professional Personal Coach. The fear of failure holds you back and a personal coach will keep you going by implementing some process that may change your perception in life.

If you feel any of the signs above, then it is time for you to consult a personal coach. A personal coach will give you strategies, techniques and procedures that will last a lifetime.

During the first call on the “21 Days to Creating a Workable Life” part of what we discussed was that each individual has Self Empowermentfour bodies:

  • Physical
  • Mental
  • Emotional
  • Spiritual

And when a person can become of aware this bodies and how to fully integrate them, then they are well on the way to self-empowerment.

You see, most of us only focus or are aware of only one of these bodies at a time.  But when we can develop a practice to align and strength all our bodies, then we are on to journey to becoming a master of our destiny, or as the last two lines in the poem Invictus tell us “I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.”

Here is a brief overview of our four bodies:

Physical Body

The physical body relates to self-healing. Physiological symptoms indicate conflicts within the physical body. Factors such as diet, nutrition, exercise, sleep and fasting promote healthy cells, organs and physiological functioning’s. Living in alignment with your personal constitution promotes self-healing. Focusing, visualization, proper breathing and meditation allow positive energy (“prana” or “qi”) to flow through all parts of your physical body.

Mental Body

The mental body speaks to your level of self-confidence. We need self-confidence to be all we can be in life. A healthy mental body gives us clarity, concentration, will power, discipline and joy in all our thoughts, words and deeds. To achieve this, we need to review and enhance our identity, beliefs and values, capabilities, attitudes, behaviors and environment (inner and outer).

Emotional Body

The emotional body is a key gateway to vitality. It addresses self-awareness. Clearing emotional reactivity and unresponsiveness allows for full emotional expression of genuine, heartfelt feelings. This self-awareness creates happiness within, and strong healthy relationships without. This promotes an abundant life on all levels. What ever you were feeling during the day today or when you were calling in…that was your emotional body

Spiritual Body

The spiritual body addresses the aspect of self-unity with all that is. It’s really the difference between being your soul essence rather than doing what you’ve been programmed to do. Ancient wisdom asserts that lack of unity within the spiritual body is the origin of all illness. The spiritual body–while being the most pervasive, important and immortal body–is nonetheless the least recognized today.

These bodies are always connected, although we often don’t realize it.

Now image, living your soul essence with vitality and self-confidence that produces self-healing…WOW!!!  I’d call that self-empowerment wouldn’t you?

The problem most of us spend way to much time on the physical or emotional bodies, and mainly NOT in a good way.

We can’t work on one and forget the others.  We ARE these four bodies…all the time.  There is never time that you are not these four bodies.

By creating a program that develops physical strength, mental strength, emotional strength and spiritual strength you’ll be self-empowered to create a life of power, purpose, passion with perseverance.

You can get started today on developing your mental strength by picking up a copy of “Develop the Mental Strength of a Warrior.”

We are all live in two realms, the inner realm of mind and spirit, and the outer realm of the body and the physical mind and spirituniverse. In the inner realm resides the silent, subtle forces that are continually determining, and with exact precision, the conditions of the outer realm.

To strike the right balance in life is one of the supreme essentials of all successful living; this is at the heart of self-empowerment. We work because we have to eat, pay bills and attempt to enjoy life. We do however require other things than just food and shelter.

These other things are not only important, but necessary.

It is however an “unconsciousness” person that doesn’t realize that life is more than food, shelter and paying bills. This type of person merely exists; they are not living a full and abundant life, one with power, purpose and passion through self-empowerment.

We can become so absorbed in making a living that we have no time “for living.” To be talented and efficient in one’s career is a good goal; but efficiency can be created by machines and software that also robs life far more than it returns it.

We can become so possessed, and even obsessed, with the idea of power and greatness through efficiency and organization, i.e. multitasking, that it becomes the “great machine” and robs people of the finer things of life.

This is where balance comes into play…again.

Our dominant thoughts and emotions determine, and with absolute accuracy, the prevailing conditions of our outward, material life, and likewise the prevailing conditions of our physical bodily. If we something a miss in the body, we must then first look at ‘cause’, the thoughts and emotions back for the physical issue.  The silent, subtle forces of mind and spirit, ceaselessly at work, are continually molding these outward and these bodily conditions.

This is where the practice of mental strength comes in.

A person makes a fundamental error who thinks this logic is merely emotional thinking without science or evidence to back it up. They are, as many people are now realizing, the great and fundamental things in life, the only things that really count in the end.

The average person can never find real and abiding satisfaction in the mere possessions, the mere accessories of life. There is an eternal something within us that ‘forbids’ it. That is the reason why so many of highly financially successful people are turning so eagerly to the very things I am now asking you to consider.

To have personal success and all the trappings cannot bring satisfaction and fulfillment.  Hey, I’m all for a fast car and a big house…and we can use these things to serve us.  But when we start to be the servant of these possessions, we have lost more than just control.  We have lost ourselves.

Its’ a consciousness and awakened warrior that realizes that it is the things of the mind and the spirit, the fundamental things in life, that really count; that here lie the forces that are to be understood and to be used in molding and creating the everyday conditions and circumstances of life; that the abundance of life all from within, that as is the inner will always and inevitably manifest into the outer.

This is why developing your emotional, spiritual and mental strength are as important, if not more so, than developing your physical strength.

Again, here balance comes into play.  We must ultimately be significantly and equally strong in all our four bodies to be able live a life of power, purpose and passion with perseverance.

Through the discipline of mental strength practice, along with emotional and positive intelligence training, soul spelunking and intense physical exercise can we create a bridge between the inner and outer realms.

If you feel that “something” inside that is calling you to live a greater life than you’re living, I encourage you to participate in The Warrior’s Quest.  You can find out more by going HERE now.

I am fascinated by people. negative beliefs

I guess that’s why I’m a coach.

I can’t tell you how often my conversations center on the frustration that people are having with what’s showing up in their lives.  They say they want one thing, yet something completely different keeps manifesting.

Even with all the information available today, people generally still don’t realize that they are the creators of their reality and what they focus on is what they’ll get.

People are experts at what they DON’T want, but very few really know exactly what they want. This knowing what they don’t want is so deep in their unconsciousness that many individuals don’t even realize it.

All they know is they don’t like their life the way it is.

Let’s take relationships for example.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if you continue to look for fault with your partner you’ll find it. LOVE is the foundation for long-lasting relationships so why do so many people focus on the faults and not the love?

Why, because they are actually “projecting” their own shortcomings on the other person because they haven’t dealt with those issues yet.

What is on the inside is projected on the outside and herein is the heart of the problem.

People are great at focusing; unfortunately they are focusing on what they don’t want, especially with relationships.

Now my area of expertise is not on relationship, but the principles I’m disusing here can be applied to every other part of your life.

I’m using relationships here are a metaphor to try to get you to understand how you really do get what you look for, i.e. focus on.

So, if you want to experience more love in your life, it makes sense that you should focus on only loving thoughts.   Relationships really bring out the unconsciousness thoughts, which many are mainly based in fear.  Fear of being abandoned, fear of not being enough, and fear of…fill in the blank.

We are so afraid of these fears showing up that unconsciously we look for them in the other person.  And when we find them…oh boy…do we take them and run with them.

We knew we were right!

Then to amplify this more, your partner is doing the exact same thing!

This leads to an inharmonious relationship.  Sure it might not be this way ALL the time, but all it takes is a few of the fear projections to start to erode the relationship.

Just in case you feel that I’m not talking about you, perhaps these projections are showing up in your other relationships, i.e. business, social, etc.

You don’t need to be in an intimate relationship for your unresolved issues to show up.

And just in case you’re wondering, here are some standard excuses why people tolerate staying in a no supportive relationship.  Remember, this can apply to a business relationship as well, just tweak the examples a bit.

10 Excuses For Not Improving A Relationship

  1. It’s not the right time.
  1. If I rock the boat I do not have the financial backing to leave the relationship (business).
  1. Marriage (business) is for life, regardless of how bad it gets.
  1. I am staying because of the children (clients).
  1. Nothing I try works, and they are unwilling to work on the relationship.
  1. He/She just won’t listen.
  1. I’ve tried and it doesn’t work, i.e.  We tried marriage counseling (business coaching) and it didn’t work.
  1. It’s been like this for so long why should I change now – resignation.
  1. I am fearful of what they will do, I am fearful of the unknown if I was to leave so best to stay with what’s known.
  1. It’s not me; they are the ones who are creating the problems.

Here’s where it gets interesting…if your relationship is not “working” then you’re getting a payoff in some way.  Most likely this payoff is confirmation of an underlying limited belief.

You are staying in the relationship most likely because:

  1. You are getting something out of staying in it and it feeds your own negative beliefs about yourself .
  1. You are not committed to living in a harmonious way. If you were committed to living in a loving relationship you would be in one by now.
  1. You are fearful of the unknown.
  1. You tolerate things the way they are because you are stuck in the HOW and are UNWILLING to get the required support to rectify the situation.
  1. You are not aware of the coast of the underlying negative beliefs.
  1. You get to be a victim!   You get mileage out of enrolling people in your life, family, friends, acquaintances about how bad your lot is – very attention seeking.
  1. You do not believe that things cannot get better because of the years of evidence to the contrary – so beliefs are running the show – fundamentally you are resigned to a new possibility.
  1. You don’t trust your faith, yourself or others.
  1. You get to remain a martyr in your life given the impact your situation has on your own well-being.
  1. You need to validate your own unhealed aspects of yourself by staying in a dysfunctional relationship.

I know this can seem pretty harsh, but if you can’t coach with me I have to get your attention some how.

So, what now?

Well, if you’ve been following me for a while this will sound familiar….find your path with heat and start walking on it.

By finding and walking your path with heart you will be forced into looking deep inside and addressing these underlying negative beliefs that show up in your life as your relationships with money, people, your health…all those things that can help you live a life of power, purpose and passion!

Stop tolerating and start living!

You can do this by joining me for the one-on-one private intensive, The Warriors Quest.  You can find out more by going HERE now.

It seems everyone and their grandmothers are constantly seeking the secrets to true personal success.  Since most power, purpose and passionindividuals have their own definition of what personal success is, there really is no one clear-cut formula.

There are however certain traits that are common in many high achievers.  The following are five mental strength tips that will help you live a life of power, purpose and passion…basically a successful life.

 1. Learn, Discard, And Create:

Learn what is useful, discard what is not and add what is uniquely your own.

All throughout our lives, we are educated and forced to learn things about society, people, religion, politics and life…all from someone else.

Many of these teachings will be of no use to you in creating your future. Keep what resonates with your Soul, that which you know will be good for you. Then, discard the disposable information; it will only tend to confuse your mind.

When you were younger and just starting out learning about math, reading, science, etc it was delivered in a “one size fits all” program.  Now that you have moved on from that style of learning is time to purge your mental cache.

It is up to you to determine which information supports you and your personal goals and which information does not.

Become a master at your craft.

Seek out the resources that are required for your personal success at your chosen profession. Then add a dash of uniqueness and make your life your own by adding your personality.

This way, you know that the knowledge you acquired, combined with application in real life, plus your additional perspective makes for a life lived with power, purpose and passion!

 2. Go Beyond Your Limitations:

Most high achievers were told that they couldn’t do it.  They were told they where too poor, too inexperienced, too unattractive, or too weak to achieve any sense of personal success.

Don’t let others limitations become your limitations!

Use your mental strength and learn to break down the barriers of your comfort zone.

Be open to change, possibilities and adventure!

Believe you can do it.

Remember, there is no failure only feedback.  Use your feedback to motivate yourself into doing more than you thought possible. Think powerful and positive thoughts.  These thoughts will lead to powerful and positive action that will help you break out of your self-imposed limitations and on to achieving your personal success.

3. Set Goals:

Have you ever gone through a phase in your life and realize that you don’t really have a goal? Feels like you’re just wandering around doesn’t it?

Always have personal goals you’re striving for. This serves as the itinerary of your life. Every major or minor decision you make should be geared towards the fulfillment of your personal goals.

Then, when you set your goals, be patient and be flexible. Don’t be discouraged by delays or minor setbacks…you have your entire life to reach them.  No success is lasting if it’s easy to get.

To be a truly successful person, your goals must not only be for your own benefit, but for the good of everyone in your life. And to really be successful, you must be in harmony with everyone else. No real success is borne out of the misery of others. Remember karma, you reap what you sow. Don’t step on anybody’s toes on your way to the top. It’s lonely being alone on your pedestal.

4. Create Your Own Destiny:

You are the master of your life – it’s no one else’s life but yours. In other words, you and only you can work towards your own success. If you rely on others to achieve your personal success you are not taking responsibility for your results.

Someone else is determining your destiny.

The simplest way to be accountable and responsible for creating your destiny is to follow your path with heart.  That is, to follow the reason why you are here!  If you need help with finding your path, check out The Warrior Quest.

When you use your mental strength and follow your path with heart, you have empowered yourself to live a life of destiny.

I said this is simplest way, not the easiest way.  Simple because once you’re on your path there are very few decisions to make.  Because of this, your life will not be easy.  Others might look at you as if you’ve lost your mind.

You can rest assured that when you are on your path you are creating your own destiny!

5. Have a Clear Conscience:

Have integrity. This is probably one of the most ignored aspects of success. What good is success if you achieved it in not-so-good ways? Always strive to be the best person you can possibly be.

Remember, that integrity is believing, thinking, speaking and acting all in the same way.

This will take mental strength and when you are aligned, that is, when you are in integrity, you will always have a clear conscience about all that you do.

This last tip is the tip that will give you inner and emotional strength and success. It’s the one which will give you peace of mind.

As Zig Ziglar said, “Money will buy you a good comfortable bed, but it will not buy you a good night’s sleep.”

These tips were meant as a starting point for you to begin to live a successful life…a life of power, purpose and passion!

It’s been said that the most important part of the human body is the heart.  It’s responsible for pumping life giving path with heartblood throughout our bodies. With every beat, life-giving blood is brought to every cell, nourishing, healing and making them stronger.

A person can “survive” with limited brain function, but with no heart beat that same person stops to exist…at least in this physical realm.

It is intriguing, that in addition to being the most important part of us, biologically speaking, the heart is also associated with our emotions and Self.

Stop for a momentum and point at yourself.

Where did you point?

Most likely at your heart…not at your head.

This is the sense of Self.

With emotions, how many times have you experienced or heard someone talk about a broken heart?

Also, how you react (emotionalize) to an external event will be felt in the heart with either a faster beat (fight or flight) or a slower beat (meditation, prayer, etc).

People feel it in their heart when they are not living in integrity.  In addition, when we are experiencing a moment of “ah”, like a beautiful sunset, we’ll feel it in our chest (heart area).

Because we feel so much in our chest we tend to give a lot to authority and power to our heart as our inner guidance system, and perhaps rightfully so.

There have been recent studies that have proven that the magnetic field produced by the heart is greater then the brain.  And more importantly, when we can entrain our brain with our heart, we enter a “blissful” and more resourceful state.

I believe, whether we are consciousness of this our not, our life is a quest…an adventure.  We are searching for a life of power, purpose and passion…A life of fulfillment, meaning and happiness.

For some the quest takes longer because they use their head (brain).  For others, they follow their heart and this will lead them in the right direction.

The question many have is, how do I know that if what I feel in my heart will bring me the life I am searching for?

Is this my path?

“Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn’t it is of no use.  Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn’t.  One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it.  The other will make you curse your life.  One makes you strong; the other weakens you.”? Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge

We need to make sure we are on the right path…the path with heart.  When we are it inform us to do the correct thing…or will our own heart lead us astray?

Sometimes, not everything we “need” is perceived as logical and fear will creep in. To get a clearer understanding of your hearts “instruction,” seek out guidance through meditation, journey work and faith.

Meditate and think if your emotions are influenced by fear and negativity. If you feel that it is, then quickly use your mental strength to shift your perception and feelings to align with your heart.

Trust your instinct. Every animal has an instinct and it never fails them.  But as humans, we have a highly-developed innate sense of ‘right’ and ‘wrong that sometimes can be clouded by too much thinking.

By following our intuition and doing what feels right we will enjoy a deep level of satisfaction.  This is the path with heart and will make living not just something we do to pass the time until we die, but will make living an exciting adventure of the Soul.

When you follow your heart, there is an internal voice that speaks to you and rules over your actions. When you follow your inner-voice joy, happiness and fulfillment soon follow.

There is an unexplainable feeling of satisfaction, safety and comfort when you let your heart rule over the more rational factors that affect your decisions. The key is to develop the courage to follow your heart, because most often, following your heart and dreams involve making what is perceived as irrational decisions.

Take a few moments right now to sit back and contemplate:

  • Have you let your heart rule over your life?
  • Have you been more logical about your decisions?
  • Have you followed the instincts that made you happy?
  • What is the quality of your life now vs. how you thought is should be 5 even 10 years ago?

If you have been walking a path with heart, you probably realized that you have been living a life of power, purpose and passion…a charged life!

If however, upon reflecting on your decisions and the level of fulfillment in your life that you have been letting your brain control your decisions, perhaps it’s time for a change.

After all if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.

I would encourage you to start to trust your heart on small matter at first.  This will help build up “trust” in yourself.  Then slowly make the move to larger and larger decisions.  Then before you know it you’ll be walking your path with heart!
