We work hard to grow and become stronger versions of ourselves to handle the challenges of the modern world. Our capacity to get things done and to upgrade our results is completely tied to our ability to evolve as individuals.

Today, we are going to be talking about the fascinating process of turning yourself into a corporate warrior.

What is a corporate warrior?

A corporate warrior is like a Spartan soldier that is trained to overcome all possible adversities. This is someone who never backs down, who has his or her feet properly panted on the ground, and understands what it takes to handle the harshness of the world.

The idea is to help you become that fearless and confident warrior that is going to deal with every challenge with tenacity. This is going to be a process that requires a large number of factors to be considered.

Why is it important for you to learn to develop your inner corporate warrior?

The only way for someone to perform at their peak potential is to enhance every aspect of their lives. This is going to be the only way for anyone to succeed while dealing with the relentless pace of the modern world.

The four components to develop the strength to become a corporate warrior are:

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Spiritual
  • Mental

There are several reasons why these are all just as relevant for the process of achieving success in life. We are going to explain some essential aspects of each component to give you a better idea.

The physical component

This is going to be extremely important to remember at all times. The mind cannot perform any function in the physical world without the body. This means that in order to become successful in every possible way, we need to work hard in the process of upgrading our minds.

In order for our physical state to be optimal, we need to exercise our bodies to strengthen our joints and muscles. This is essential for endurance in any type of job, especially if we sit in front of a computer all day.

It can be difficult to make the decision to exercise properly and to commit to this process. This is one of those challenges that will test us in life. Many people start out with motivation and drive, but they slowly go back to a sedentary life after a while.

The idea is for you to be able to break through that cycle and to stick to an active life with plenty of exercise. This is just one aspect of the physical component for success. You also need to ensure that you have a balanced diet and that you get adequate sleep.

When your body received enough vitamins, minerals, and proteins, everything else is going to be in much better shape. Learning to eat healthier foods and cutting back on the junk food is going to prove to be essential in your life.

Once you combine proper exercise and a balanced diet, sleeping is going to be a much easier process. Those are the three elements that you need to keep in mind at all times when dealing with physical strength.

The Emotional component

This is an incredibly important component because it will help us learn to handle our emotions. The way we handle our emotions is going to play a major role in how we handle every aspect of our lives. This is the main reason why it is essential to ensure that you can handle this properly.

A great example of handling your emotions is when someone tells you something that annoys you in any way. You could react to it in a way that displays anger and frustration, or you could analyze the situation and use logic to digest it in a way that is productive to you.

So, if someone says they don’t like the way you work, you could react in anger and tell them that their opinion holds no value to you. Alternatively, you could politely ask them to give you constructive feedback on what they think is wrong with your work.

This level of emotional control is also what is known as emotional intelligence. Just like physical exercise, the more you flex that emotional control, the more your emotional intelligence grows.

It has been said that people can only become true warriors of mind and body when they are able to control their emotions. This statement is an undeniable truth that is going to play a major role in every aspect of your life.

The spiritual component

If I could use one word to describe the human spirit, it would be gratitude. It is safe to say that gratitude is the ultimate spiritual practice. There are many aspects of our lives that are going to require spiritual gratitude.

There are many things that encompass spirituality, but it all comes down to three main elements. Relationships, values, and your life purpose. They are all considered the pillars of spirituality and it is essential to keep all of them in good shape.

Relationships

When it comes to relationships, there are two types that we deal with every day. You have your relationship with yourself and how you deal with your thoughts and you have the external relationship when interacting with others.

Our internal relationship is one that can be very difficult to handle. If we can’t have a good and peaceful relationship with our inner self, we are going to have a harder time dealing with external relationships.

The process of engaging in relationships with others is not easy and we need to be tolerant and analytic. Most importantly, we need to learn to avoid expectations when we interact with other people.

When you expect something from those around you, the results are usually very disappointing. The only thing you can do is control your reactions to the way that people behave.

Values

The way you look at the world and how you determine which of your actions are fair, unfair, justified, etc. This has a lot to do with your moral compass and how you view your actions. This is a big part of your spiritual formation.

The values that you have today may not be the same you had at a younger age. With that in mind, your values can always be upgraded. There is no such thing as having values that can’t be changed or optimized.

We all know the process of changing our minds and evolving in ways we never thought possible. What you once considered to be normal or fair, could not be seen in a completely different light.

Life purpose

This one can be tricky because many people feel that their lives have no purpose, while others think they have found their purpose, but they realize they have yet to find it. This is the main reason why you need to do a lot of soul searching before you can determine what you really want in life.

Your life purpose can be anything you want as long as you feel genuinely rewarded by your lifestyle. A genuine reward is one that makes you feel spiritually sound and happy.

The best way to do this is to engage in some serious soul searching and this process is going to be a great way to discover a lot about who you are. Soul searching is done by being 100% true to yourself in regards to who you are and who you wish to become.

The mental component

There is a very important reason why we left the mental component for last. The reason is that all other components are required in order for the mental component to be in top shape.

With that said, all of these components require each other at some degree, but unlike emotional control and physical strength, and person can be in emotional control and be physically weak. In contrast, a person cannot be mentally strong if their emotions, their spirit, and their bodies are not in tops shape.

There are many things related to our mental health that are going to be essential for our success. The way that our mind behaves is going to be affected by all other components. This means that a lack of physical strength, emotional control and spiritual balance is going to make our mental health deteriorate.

Many of the most common mental illnesses that people deal with in life could be prevented with a balanced state of mind, body, emotion and spirit. Some of the most relevant and common conditions include anxiety, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorders and eating disorders.

This is the reason why the mental component is so essential and the best way to keep it in top shape is to keep the other components in proper balance. They are all just as relevant and they need each other in order for you to be as strong as possible on all fronts.

How to know if you are struggling mentally or emotionally?

This is a good question and it is often hard for people to see the differences. The main difference is quite simple. If you are struggling with anger every day and you feel that you have a hard time staying cool when you are annoyed, this is an emotional struggle.

On the other hand, if you feel like your struggle is that you feel depressed and sad for any reason and you are unable to shake that feeling, you are struggling mentally. Those are perfect examples of the difference between one struggle and the other.

Sometimes both of these problems can merge and this creates an even more intense and difficult struggle. When this happens, you need to be even more analytical to see what needs to be done in order to solve the problem.

Sometimes we need to take a step back and reevaluate our lives in order to learn to identify why we are struggling. This is going to prove to be essential in every aspect of life and it will help you determine the best course of action.

How to ensure that you stick to the journey to become a stronger version of yourself?

Perhaps the biggest of all obstacles is the ability to stay focused on the path you have chosen to travel. If you are determined to become the best version of yourself, you need to start by acknowledging that this is not going to be easy.

There will be times when your willpower is going to be tested. There will be days when you are going to feel like eating junk food, skipping your workouts, giving in to your emotions, and procrastinating during work hours.

When this happens, you need to be ready to take a step back and remind yourself of your mission and goals. Also, remember that if this process was easy, everyone would be a warrior and the world would be ten times more competitive than it is today.

The truth is that those who fail to commit are the ones that make things easier for those that decide to push through. This is a great thing to remember when you are feeling like you can’t handle certain aspects of your life anymore.

Final thoughts on becoming a corporate warrior

The main thing to remember in this kind of situation is this process takes time. You cannot expect to become the best version of yourself in a couple of days or weeks. There are many battlefronts you need to deal with before you can make that happen.

The good news is that the rewards of your commitment are going to be worth the journey. Just remember that all great things in life are going to come at a cost. This should be a great motivator to keep going when the obstacles feel hard to handle.
