What Is Your Good?

I mentioned in a previous post that I’m taking a class “Beyond Limits.” It’s associated with Science of Mind and the Your goodCenter for Spiritual Living here in San Jose.

The premise behind the teachings is that our thinking creates our reality.  No big deal right?  This is fairly well known.  The cool thing about Science of Mind and especially New Thought is that it’s been around since the 1800’s! More specifically Science of Mind has been around since 1927.  These teachings are from the pioneers of this movement.  This “New Thought” is at the heart of “The Secret” and other similar programs.

Anyway, in last nights class two things really stuck with me.

The first is “the news is the news because it’s not the norm.” Stop and think about this for a moment.  Everything you see and read about in the news is an oddity, that’s why it’s in the news.

Unfortunately for the majority of the population they have been hypnotized into believing that the news IS the norm!  The trouble here is that when you believe the news is the norm you will tend to look for “it”, i.e. more bad news, in order to “prove” that it is the norm.

Remember, what the thinker thinks, the prover proves…and you have both of these in your mind.

And when the prover proves it will only let situations and circumstances through your filters so that you’ll miss all the greatness around your.

It’s like the story of the man pointing the beautiful moon showing his dog which way to look and all the dog was doing is looking at the finger.

When we program ourselves by watching and reading the news, with the unconsciousness assumption that the news is the norm, we will then create exactly what we think is the norm.

I know…I can hear you already, “So what am I supposed to do, be uniformed, what if something horrible happens and I need to know?”

First, is something happens that it so bad you need to know…someone will tell you.

Second, I’m not saying don’t stay informed, what I am suggesting is that when you listen to the news, listen from a perceptive of non attachment and ask, “Is this true all over?”

You will find that by using your mental strength, questioning and not getting emotional attached to the stories you will be able to make better assumptions and take a different action.  This, my friend, is reclaiming your personal power that you have been giving away for a long time.

Go ahead and watch the news if you must, but look it as if it is NOT the norm and then find all the examples of the opposite. You’ll be amazed at how much good is out there.

The next subject that really got to me was the question “What’s your good?” This was used in reference to the manifestation process. You know – affirmations, visualization prayer, etc.  Most of us have heard about dream boards, setting goals and affirming our personal goals.  Some may have even heard about “raising your vibration” in accordance to what you desire.

Until last night I thought I understood, and to some degree I did and I’m sure you do as well.  But this question, “What’s your good?” was used in relation to what truly creates happiness and joy inside you.

We all have at least one thing that we LOVE to do and when you’re doing it we feel ecstatic.  To some, it could be playing with their children, for others is could be walking in nature and still others working out (yes there some of us that LOVE to work out).  What ever it is…that’s your good!

So how does this fit into manifestation?

Well…before you being to use any of the process described above, or any other that you use to create your reality, first get in touch with your good.  Then when that energy…when that vibration is strongly felt….start the process.

You see most of us do affirmation, visualization, prayer, etc from a place of lack, scarcity and need…and that is the vibration we are sending out.  No wonder “it” doesn’t work….well actually “it” is working perfectly in accordance with your vibration.

I hope you’re getting this….this was a huge ah-ha for me.

You see, I love to climb mountains.  It gives me a feeling that is indescribable….I know what it is, how it feels, and where the feeling is located…I just can’t and don’t want to put a label on it.

And from now on before I being ANY manifestation process I’m going to think about climbing and when I can sense that feeling inside me, that’s when I’ll start the process.

So…I ask….what’s your good?  What is it that creates an indescribable feeling for you?  Find it and get to know it deeply.  Then before you begin any magnification process evoke that memory…that feeling…that internal representation and then move into the process.

You’ll be amazed at how your personal goals and personal success will easily begin to show up in your life.
